Only Jesus – A Resurrection Sunday Message of Hope

The Bible is God’s written word to the world to introduce, explain and reveal, Himself and the Holy Trinity to the extent He desired.  He began by revealing His eternal existence and how He created the world as we know it. (Genesis 1-2). The first mention of the Trinity is in

“Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”  God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. God blessed them…” Genesis 1: 26-28a.

Only Jesus is God and Creator of all things

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being.”  John 1:1-3

“He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things have been created through Him and for Him.  He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.”  Colossians 1:15-17

†  Only Jesus is the incarnation of God – the revelation of God the Father to mankind

“He is also head of the body, the church; and He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that He Himself will come to have first place in everything. For it was the Father’s good pleasure for all the fullness to dwell in Him,”  Colossians 1:18-19

His message and mission: “From that time Jesus began to preach and say, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”  Matthew 4:17

“I have not come to call the righteous but sinners to repentance.”  Luke 5:32

†  Only Jesus is Able to Save Us from Our Sins – death

Perfect life so He could be acceptable sacrifice

“He made Him who knew no sin to be sin in our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.”  2 Corinthians 5:21

“and through Him to reconcile all things to Himself, having made peace through the blood of His cross; through Him, I say, whether things on earth or things in heaven.” Colossians 1:18-19

† Only Jesus Died from Our Sins – His death our life John 3:16

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.’  John 3:16  read vs 16-21

“For Christ also suffered for sins once for all time, the just for the unjust, so that He might bring us to God, having been put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit;  ”1 Peter 3: 18

†  Only Jesus conquered death and that is why and what we celebrate today: Resurrection

“Now if Christ is preached, that He has been raised from the dead, how do some among you say that there is no resurrection of the dead?  But if there is no resurrection of the dead, not even Christ has been raised; and if Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is vain, your faith also is vain. Moreover we are even found to be false witnesses of God, because we testified against God that He raised Christ, whom He did not raise, if in fact the dead are not raised. For if the dead are not raised, not even Christ has been raised; and if Christ has not been raised, your faith is worthless; you are still in your sins. Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ have perished.  If we have hoped in Christ in this life only, we are of all men most to be pitied.”  1 Corinthians 15:12-19

I pray you are celebrating with us today His glorious resurrection.  If you are still wandering without hope or seeking Truth, keep reading…

†  Only Jesus is the only way – the world hates this Truth most of all

“Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.”  John 14:6
